Niki Smith

Niki Smith

Lead of Operations & Financial Advisor

Niki grew up in the small towns of Dallas & Stanley, North Carolina. Being the daughter of police officers, she learned the value of service to others while she was still young. Her parents spent more than 30 years on the police force. Often saving the lives of inmates and victims, their dedication to the community is exemplified in Niki’s passion for helping others.

Niki was her high school valedictorian before earning a B.S. in Business Administration from Gardner- Webb University. She put her accounting and management expertise to work in the retail industry for 13 years. The environment proved to amplify her desire to work with the public and found that serving others brought her the most joy and satisfaction. She knew to impact more people she would have to find an industry with a broader reach.

She worked as a financial advisor with Thrivent Financial beginning in 2006. Niki remembers Carolyn, her favorite client, and the deep gratitude she showed for Niki’s caring approach to planning and investing. Simple changes to the financial aspect rippled across other facets of her life and she experienced less stress and was happier. Niki joined Traverse Partners in 2008 and prides herself on being professional, yet genuinely personable, honest, proactive and efficient. She enjoys welcoming each client to the Traverse family and leading the operations of the firm.

Niki lives in the Lake Wylie area with her husband, Mike, bonus daughter, Laurel, and fur baby, Jaxen.  She enjoys whipping up the latest Pinterest recipe, spending time with her large extended family and being outdoors, whether it’s hiking, boating or just sitting on the front porch drinking sweet tea.

In the community, Niki advocates for abused and neglected children as a Guardian Ad Litem.  She is an active member of Restoring Hope Foursquare Church in Dallas, NC, where she’s currently serving as a council member. You can find her most Sunday mornings standing at the entrance of her church greeting parishioners with a smile and hug.
